Example values are shown to start with. Change them to your own numbers. Everything is calculated in your browser.
The result is an estimate for planning. It assumes your only income is salary and that you claim only the standard deduction. Other income, deductions or surcharge will change your actual tax, so always check your final figure against official sources or with a tax professional.

Frequently asked questions
Is income up to ₹12 lakh tax-free under the new regime?
Taxable income up to ₹12,00,000 gets a full rebate under Section 87A, so the tax is nil. For a salaried person who also claims the ₹75,000 standard deduction, a salary of up to ₹12,75,000 results in no tax.
What is the standard deduction in the new regime?
₹75,000 for salaried individuals, which is applied automatically in this calculator.
Does this calculator include surcharge?
No. Surcharge applies at higher incomes. If your income is high, use the Income Tax Department's tools or ask a tax professional.
Which year do these slabs apply to?
The slabs on this page are those for FY 2026-27 (assessment year 2027-28). The Budget 2026-27 left the new-regime slabs unchanged. Confirm on the Income Tax Department website before relying on the result.
Why is my employer's figure different?
Payroll tax is computed with your declarations, other income and deductions, and with monthly averaging. This page models a simple case only.
